Let him sweat over the weekend and we tell him once it lands.

Awesome dude.@VandaL @mikewazar
Took delivery of my Atlas Mesh head rest yesterday, all I can say is OMG! Being able to relax back into my Aeron is a beautiful thing! Very happy with my purchase upon initial use. The only negative is any other chair is now well and truly a miserable experience in comparison.
Awesome dude.
How much did it cost and where did you get it from?

But I suppose that's not bad.

Found at it offurn office furniture for around R6000 including VAT. However, it is simply listed as "wau ergonomic high back chair". Is this a fake? There is no mention of 3/5 year warranty. ThanksWhat's even more confusing is that there's two models being sold in SA with no mention of it in the product listings.
The info that I had at the time I purchased my grey TPE are that, we have the TPE's which are the 609 model with the smaller backrest and the other variations are 709 with the larger backrest. The importer is Home | office-furniture which is ODO's supplier including ITOfurniture (there are fakes out there too, original has 3 year warranty not 5 years).
I prefer the 609 backrest but my experiences are the same as Firestorms... initially I hated it. I was under the impression that the TPE seat warms up and molds to your ass but that's not true. It's literally hard plastic, not the same composition as the TPE on the backrest and headrest which is more softer. I've gotten used to it now and its definitely comfortable after the initial phase but occasionally I still get a pain at the base of my spine.
I initially ordered from ODO with foam and mesh (709) and I also felt the foam seat giving me the same pain but returned it due to an out of the box scratch on the armrest and difficulty with the lumbar adjustment. The foam seat is very high density and I found it to be a bit hard. Adjusting your chair to the correct height makes a massive difference to the pressure on your spine and ass.
I then ordered the TPE from Adel (she's awesome) at ITOfurniture after testing them all out at deskandchair. What sold me on the TPE was the backrest shape (609), comfort during the short period I sat on it and the fact that all of the sales people at deskandchair were using the Wau TPE's! (You can see their desks from the showroom)
When I tested the mesh seat (709) I found that it has the most, "give" so you sink in much more in comparison to the foam and TPE.
I also have a few ticking or clicking sounds from the base mechanism after returning to the standard position from reclining. It quite audible but doesn't bother me that much since I hardly recline. It has a 3 year warranty so I might lodge a warranty claim in future.
I know that's a chunk of text but hopefully that helps any of you that are planning on buying one.

Initially, I understood the Merryfair Wau to be the original model with all others being clones. However, is plausible that all of these chairs are manufactured in China and are identical ?(Merryfair opened a manufacturing plant in China in 2005) They would then be imported to Europe, the US and Asia where a brand name is attached depending on the region. South Africa would then import these 'rebranded' units.Call them and find out about the warranty.
That's an old picture as it looks like a 609 model with mesh back and foam seat which the official agent doesn't bring in, not sure if anything has changed since I bought mine. You might receive the 709 if you order from them.
If they are charging separately for delivery I rather check with ITOfurniture as they charged me R6100 including delivery.
Or just wait for the next ODO special to popup.
Where did you end up buying it from? IXAXA? Did the box have the merryfair logo on it?Not nice for me, I paid R5500 just like you plus R450 shipping to CPT 😅
If you can remember, did the box have the merryfair logo on it?Yeah it's the black fabric one.
I have nothing but good things to say about it. I like to compare on 'bum hours' and I do feel like I can sit on this chair for marathon work or gaming sessions. The seat feels like it's moulding to my bum cheeks so it's almost like the chair is becoming bespoke to me. Other than that, when you have all the adjustments dialled in, this chair is pure bliss.
Probably the best investment I've made in a looooooooong time.
Which did you end up getting? Also keen to purchase 1, undecided between these 2:
Merryfair Reya Ergonomic Office Chair - Red
Merryfair Wau Ergonomic Office Chair - White
Any suggestions ?
Was there a customs duty to be paid upon arrival? I'm assuming you ordered directly from atlas and selected DHL (around $50 delivery + $180 headrest)@VandaL @mikewazar

Nope, no additional customs fees (all included in the ~33$ DHL express shipping fee at the time I presume?). I only had to confirm my ID when the item arrived in SA.Was there a customs duty to be paid upon arrival? Yeah, they just keep increasing the price. This chair is not worth R10000I was ready to pull the trigger at R5000 not R6500
Man... Was really hoping to get it around R5000-R5500, I REALLY need a good chair.
It's R7038 with shipping included, do I take the plunge?
There is a Wau at offurn for R5195. It is identical to the Merryfair one but does not include Merryfair in the description. Others on here have said there are clones.Man... Was really hoping to get it around R5000-R5500, I REALLY need a good chair.
