Hi I have a GTX 1080TI Aorus that died about 2 months ago. An international repair guy gave me some advice from what he saw on the PCB and said it may be faulty memory modules. Does anyone know a person which is skilled enough to look at GPU's in Cape Town (or outside Cape Town - can courier)?

Been playing games from 2004 with onboard graphics for the last 2 months lol.

@ScorpioMan86 maybe but replacing a memory module sounds rough!
That was just the guy's estimate, he didnt actually look deeply into it. I sent him a pic. He said it's usually a symptom of a failed memory module.

What I can see:
- Aorus lighting profile is starting up and goes to what i set it
- Fans are not spinng which is right because GPU has fan stop feature
- 12v seems fine because nothing is exploding lol

So it does seem like there's some GPU initializing going on but still black screen no signal
(Might be memory module but could be something smaller).

@CntrlAltDel , does the GPU display at all ?

If you set your board to forcefully post via onboard, is the GPU being picked up by the board ?

Memory issues are generally based on artifacts / crashing under load but the card needs to detected in order for the tests to be run.

Doesnt display whatsoever. Ive tried checking hw info with igpu but gpu doesnt show at all. I think you're right about the memory theory.

@ScorpioMan86 I checked with a YouTuber who deals with broken 1080TI's and messaged him on discord, he said it may be a buck converter that needs replacing which is common for these cards to cause no signal issues.

If I were you, I'd just send it off to to @ScorpioMan86 my zotac 1080Ti came back today after it didn't want to post, my rig wouldn't even power on with it plugged in, days later after he did his magic the card runs smooth, without issue.

@ScorpioMan86 Some more feedback i received:

Total cost to send to Gigabyte in US for out of warranty repair (send and return): R3880. Absolutely insane. They can still reject the repair so I'll wind up paying R3880 without getting a repair. Looks like 80% of the time they reject repairs.

@ScottulusMaximus Isn't there a cheaper shipping provider for this guy?

Hilton is your go to guy, not sure if he is on carb through.
