Bikers!?

@Spectaitor I have a very neat 2019 Street Triple 765 RS for you ;)
140K - 9K on clock (FSH), new front brakes, Arrow titanium pipe.
Pearl white. Comes with almost new Power 5's and also have a 30% set of used Pirelli Corsas for track.

Decided to peruse the ADV route for now and i see the RS garaged while i tour. Will buy the new Speed Triple when i'm done exploring.

Damn man the Honda CBR250RR has so many amazing features, quickshift up and down, new dash, abs, great takeoff speed, different modes. Welp out the window, just spoke to Honda and we aren't getting any new imports on the lower range bikes. Can't find the Ninja 250 anymore.

Busy trying to decide between a 390RC, Nina 400SE and R3.

Yup girlfriend is against me getting anything lower than 400 for this main reason. Also not to worried about the kit, will have that sorted out either way.
If you are still in the market in a week or 2, I am gonna be selling my 1996 cbr400rr nc29 for 15k (if this is something u just wanna try out) . Its gonna need cosmetic tlc, as I had a fall with it in december on the left side. But still rides fine. Im also about 74kg.

I am busy changing to a harley.

Thanks, but I've got a Suzi DR650 and vigorously enjoy my ADV riding :cool:
If I got a roadie then I tend to lean more on the Big 4 for reliability and better pricing on parts etc. Although BMW has an amazing infrastructure built up here.

Always liked the googly eyes on those Street Triples though :p

Almost any name brand bike will break the law quite easily. Even the 250's can easily do 100 in a 60 zone.
I say any bike can break the law with ease, some can just break it quicker.

As someone who went from 150cc > 750cc > 650cc > 950cc & a waste of time and money 800cc > 1000cc, I can tell you, you'll eventually stop being scared and want more.

I always ride the MT10 in rain mode because I'm a wussy, a month in I realized there are problems with my bike and vowed to fix it .
Then I used it like a normal 125cc till lock down happened.

Since I started going back to the office full time, I found myself bored on my MT-10 quite often now that it's fixed and can actually stop.
The illusion I have of the power is brutal, but I pretend to get used to it.
Luckily on the MT10 there are power modes, so I just pretend to switch to the top one every second week and get my fix again, but I like to talk smack and tell people its wearing off to the point that I have considered just leaving it in the fastest mode not that I ever go fast.

Fuel economy sucks anyways, so it would just wear off quicker.

If the 1290SDR didn't have reliability issues, I would have upgraded already is what I tell myself but I probably won't ever upgrade because I haven't really learnt to ride my MT10 properly yet.

Bike CUD is just as bad as PC CUD once you have been doing it for a while.
Fixed it for you

Its not about the speed but knowing what you want to get out of it. If you are going to become a track rider a r3 is the perfect machine to dial your skills in on. There is nothing more thrilling than riding a slow bike fast around a track.
However if you are gona be a sunday rider like most of us, its rather annoying getting dropped by your mates at every pull away, or taking days to get up to a respectable cruising speed on the highway.
I started on a liter bike. I survived. But i am a massive advocate of starting a little smaller and trading up if you can. And of proper training. Hence referring the original poster to citytrax. Its easy riding a bike quickly. Making a u turn in a single lane, or understanding braking and defensive riding is another thing completely.

Another thing to consider is ergonomics. Sporty bikes are fun, but for long rides they kill my back. The hunched position is great for zooting, not so great for long distance rides.

Someone buy me a Swartpilen 701 please.

Facts. And on a naked there is no wind protection so better have a strong neck at everything over 100km/h[emoji1787]

Yea that's the only thing, I would pop a screen on the Swart instantly. But also, look at this.
Husqvarna Vitpilen Aero concept.

Yep i did 1500Km mostly 160-180 and some 230 blips with no screen or on the RS.

That's like me throwing a gmmk pro at somebody who can barley use a keyboard on a laptop :(

Stop this madness! I'm not going with a biscotti

Yea i really should stop commenting. Im the guy that started with a S1000R, had it for 3 months and got bored with it. Traded up for a Bologna rocket and never looked back

Yea I agree, Husqvarna Swartpilen is a great choice.
;)

Damn guys, I have dived down the rabbit hole with my girlfriend. She is looking at the Cbr1000rr 2019 and I'm stuck between the Ninja 400 (2021), RC 390 and now the R3.

There is so much information out there ahhhhhhhhhh

You know how there are rules to CUD? 😅
One of the rules of biking, your SO cannot have a bigger capacity bike than you.

I believe this only applies if you're trying to compensate for something else not being so big ;) not the case hereee

All jokes aside, I've got around 15 years riding experience, my other half is looking at getting his first bike.

Sadly the rc390 isn't looking as promising after watching some videos of it struggling on the highway compared the the R3 and the Ninja. As much as I agree nobody new to riding should be getting on a litre bike, nor a pocket rocket like the GSXR 600/R6, I really don't want him getting on something lacking so badly where you can't yourself out of trouble.

We'll pay some dealerships a visit and check out the best options in person soon. GhostR likes the supersport full fairing vibes more than the nakeds, so thats another reason we've narrowed it down.

Can't wait to get on that blade though. Will be so much fun riding together as a couple :)

I see there's been enough jesting and shit posting that you just decided to make your own account! Welcome.

Have fun teaching him the ways of the road. Usually it's the other way around.

Bike shopping is fun!

Heheh we were lying in bed reading and I couldn't resist joining the party. I've had an account for a while, I just haven't been posting :D

Agreed, it'll be super fun, we can't wait!

As long as you both realise it's still all jokes, some people here take this stuff wayyyyy too seriously.
As someone who has tried to get my SO into biking many times and failed every time, I am very jealous.

You should be happier om a Japanese bike, I've heard some sad stories about unreliability on the KTM's.
There is another user on carb selling his 390 and it cost him 30k (if i remember correctly) to rebuild the engine on a low mileage bike .

Oh yeah of course, that's why I joined in with a little banter myself hehe

I know, we're super lucky to have like everything in common, from being keyboard/mouse enthusiasts, gaming, business, and now our most exciting one being the avid interest in bikes (which has me really stoked because I've been itching to get another bike for a while now.)

I'm also aware of the reliability issues on the rc390, it really is a shame. Definitely agree on the Japanese bikes being a better bet.

I'm still looking around myself, but I'm heavily leaning towards the modern Fireblade, 2017 upwards, for various reasons. It just fits my needs the most, personally.
