Post your bike/bikes

I'll have to ride it more to find out. See you tomorrow morning at 7.

Many people say that, until they find out what an offroad/enduro capable bike costs 😄
Im not even thinking Enduro.
I'm thinking 125-250cc scrambler for screwing around with offroad like a motocross track etc.
I.e just for fun.

If I want the exhiliration of speed ill stick to my Ape.

Sadly I sold my Aprilia 2 stroke earlier this year and the garage has been without a bike since. :(
There will be another bike at some point, just not now.

100% we all do it for fun - sponsored or not. Just heard it a number of times, guys thinking getting into the offroad scene is cheap. Then are pleasantly surprised when they have to pay 100K+ for a new offroad capable bike. Even an out of the box 2021 KTM/Husky needs some additions to make it decent.

Yea, also not looking at new in this class.
2000-2010 YZ will be more than sufficient, seen a few in good condition going for like R20-30k, and sometimes even less.

Great bikes so far, everyone!

The first picture is of my Ape and my dad's new S1000RR. I have a few replacement decals on order from AF1 because some of my grey ones got damaged during transport (I think), but I'm absolutely in love with the bike. Much easier to ride than the Brutale I had before.
I recently did my first track day at KIllarney on the Aprilia, so that's the embarrassing last photo (provided the album worked properly; this is my first actual Carb post). I was told to try out B group next time, but I'm still undecided.

My father in law built this TR250 cafe racer a few years ago. A lot of fab work and modern touches.

Noice

Them new S1000RRs have all them nice electronics. Almost traded my S1000R for one but after riding a few bikes that I thought I'd trade on, I came to the realization that mah bike is awesome af and it's engine is at the end of it's production cycle which is always the best time to get it.

I'm a bit jelly though, a 22 year old on a RSV4, I hope you step on a lego :p

He had two S1000Rs before this (a '14 and an '18), and they're definitely awesome bikes! I always thought they were a lot of fun, and super stable whatever you throw at them. Have you ever had issues with yours not starting after being left in the sun for a bit, if you don't mind my asking? I think it was an issue with the fuel sensor on that bike.

I'll be sure to leave some blocks lying around :ROFLMAO: I lucked out trading in my first bike to Cayenne for the MV when they were still around -they gave me way too much for that bike - so that required minimal extra investment from me. I was really lucky with the timing of it all.

He has yes. I can even say that. I was with him the day it happened :ROFLMAO:
It happened right in-front of the BMW dealership he bought it from.
They took it in, brought it back out 20mins later and it was fixed.

This thread should be closed. There's too much flexing going on! :sneaky:

I want to buy a bike. But I really shouldn't!

Actually, if I could go get my learners I would have one already(previous one expired), but it's a PITA and I don't have the patience to wait in line from 4am, so maybe it's a blessing in disguise!

Nice bikes guys! Super jealous!

Have my eyes on a '14 R6 at the moment, but the aforementioned issue is a problem

Well I was 26 when I got my Ape, so not much better :p

Just do it, trust me, it's really worth if even if you just use a bike to skip on traffic.

Yea It actually did, as this Ovisser twat has said, I went for a demo day and my bike wouldn't start afterwards.
They took the bike into the workshop, something to do with fuel pressure and all that. Made an appointment for them to replace the entire fuel line system to fix the issue sort of like a recall.
They gave me the invoice which I obviously didn't have to pay, Just something they had to do. it was around R12 or 22k(I can't remember) just for the parts. But yea, since then, no issues.

I don't let jap crap riders ride my bike all willy nilly. :p
And people say Italian bikes are expensive... holy hell, could buy a entire bike for that money
I suppose so but I have to admit, The BMW guys are looking after me really really well.
3 year warranty opposed to the 2 year one I had with KTM and even then they tried to screw me over. BMW just says bring it and they'll sort it and they do. My mother and I both have BMWs, her's being the S1000XR, and BMW have been really epic.

so yea, even though their bikes don't have indicators, their customer service is amazing.

I would add another R15K to that budget if I was you and go bargain hunting for a 2011-2014 KTM 300 XCW
You will have a pretty decent enduro bike (You will definitely have e-start then) of course buying the bike is not the only expense, its a hideously expensive hobby if you really commit to it.

Here are my babies. They all have a great storie to go with them. Can't find any photos of my NSR MC21 SP Pentax and it is currently undergoing restoration. Lets see your babies.

<3 that RGV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

one of 10 ever to grace our shores. Found in an old dusty basement covered with tarps
I find it really odd with the modern bikes of today where 200hp and a 170kg weight is a sight to behold.

But way back when with the RGV 500 XR75 you had 195hp with a dry weight of 135kgs and half the cubic capacity, somewhere bike development went backwards. (yea yea, I know two strokes and four strokes are different)

I am wayyy too scared for these coffins on 2 wheels!

Not a big KTM fan... Seen too many 'new' ones go and just stand for absolutely no discernible reason.
Also, not too phased about electric starter compared to kick starter tbh.

YZ's are cheap as chips to repair, and spares are a plenty.
That is a more attractive selling point for me coz once I have my own I will definitely be buying a few plots around the track
