Awesome DRAM overclocker this one, so easy and so capable. As long as you have the CPU with the minerals, the B550 AORUS PRO will go the distance.

You seriously take this one over the MSI B550 Tomahawk?

I haven't used the Tomahawk so would not be fair for me to say so.
However having used other B550 boards and compared to this one, yeah I'd take this one for it's performance and super simple oc capabilities. If I wanted the comforts and features I'd consider the B550 Taichi or perhaps the MSI offerings.
I suspect it'll be even better with Ryzen 4000

Thanks, in the market for an upgrade, so it seems like this one could be a contender. Mostly due to availability of everything else. Or if i get silly its bigger brother.

Do you mean X570?

Personally, I think X570 is a waste. B550 has very similar features and from what I see in Buildzoid's videos, much better VRMs in many cases. All that without a possibly problematic chipset fan and cheaper price makes me stay away from X570.

B550, quite a few of the boards are improvements over their X570 siblings albeit with the lower tier loadout which doesnt bug me at all. I prefer the B550 with the passive cooling and no whiney little jet fan on it.

Been following BZ videos too, so Gouhans opinions is also valuable as it is more relevant to me.

Edit: Would rather get the B550 Aorus Master than settle f9r skmething I dont want. It has better VRM than the X570.

Unless you want PCI Gen4 ...Then X570
B550 has Gen4 from the CPU, so the top slot and top m.2 are gen4. On the X570 the others are supplied from the chipset, wheras in B550 they are not and are plain gen3.

B550 Taichi for instance splits the x16 PCIe 4.0 lanes from the CPU into two x8 slots if you so choose. So out of the three full lengths PCIe slots, two can do x8 @ PCIe4.0 the last one is x4 PCIe3.0 and two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots. In such a configuration, that X570 has chipset PCIe 4.0 becomes academic at most.

B550 Master is well... Masterful. Even beter VRM than B550, OC capabilties are likely the same.
The Master will give you better VRM, Wifi, BT & 3xM.2 instead of 2x and that's pretty much it. Personally the 12 phase VRM on the PRO is more than enough (I don't see how I'm ever going to need more current than 700A to the CPU)
