Heya fellow Carbies,

Does anyone know of anyone on Carb that sells decent thermal compound?

If you cant be worried about a 1-2 celsius difference, the above wins in terms of bank for buck.

I agree, I used the phanteks diamond compound for a really long time and really the truth is most of us will never notice the difference. @OddballZA it really depends on what you are cooling, what cooler you are using and your goals. Sure there are guys out there that need Kryonaut for his 10900K on a huge open loop but most of use will be fine with phanteks nano diamond. I've taken a liking to the cooler master master gel line as it allegedly offers better performance for a lower (sorta) price, only from takealot though. On the flip side if you're using an expensive AIO or huge an expensive aircooler, It does seem like a bit of a waste to not get an extremely good paste like Hydronaut.

My 2cents

This is the stuff you want to look at as well, I use it so often and its fantastic. Wish i were a rep for this. lol

Just watch out on takealot, the product descriptions for the Mastergels are wrong.

There are 3 versions of Mastergel. Regular (5) (R80), Pro (8) (R130) and Maker (11) (R200).

You want the Maker.

Regular
Color: Gray
Thermal Conductivity: 5 (W/m-K)
Specific Gravity: 2.5 (g/cm3) (25°C)
Volume: 1.5ml
Grease Cleaner: Yes

Pro
Color: Gray
Thermal Conductivity: 8 (W/m-K)
Specific Gravity: 2.6 (g/cm3) (25°C)
Volume: 1.5ml
Grease Cleaner: Yes

Maker
Color: Gray
Thermal Conductivity: 11 (W/m-K)
Specific Gravity: 2.6 (g/cm3) (25°C)
Volume: 1.5ml
Grease Cleaner: Yes

Yes, this right here is the reason, and its electrically non-conductive

Thermal Conductivity: 11 (W/m-K)

I wasn't going to comment on this thread at all but I think there's clarification needed.

@Thermal Grizzly ZA Expensive but completely unrivalled

Not really that expensive when you look at thermal conductivity. Especially compared to anything with the same spec. For instance the mastergel pro is R130 on takealot (or R100 by me) and has a thermal conductivity of 8. The aeronaut is R120 on Thermal-Grizzly's website and has a thermal conductivity of 8.5 The mastergel maker which is R200 on takealot and has a thermal conductivity of 11 is more expensive than the hydronaut which is R150 and thermal conductivity is 11.8

So when comparing apples with apples and oranges with oranges, the Thermal Grizzly is priced quite well actually. Also when using the coupon code on your first purchase, you score another R20 off your order

If thermal conductivity is what you're going for then yes this is well priced. However it's 5 (W/m-k) and costs R99 for 2x 1g tubes which is the same as the Mastergel Regular that I carry at R50 a tube. Come on, support a fellow carbie :p
So yeah it isn't that bad and I agree that if you aren't worried about a few degrees, then you don't need to go for the TG stuff

Just as a clarification, nobody really needs Kryonaut. It's what they want because that's what they see being used. Hydronaut is where it's at though and is something that I fully recommend.

Speak to @Thermal Grizzly ZA, they could make you a rep for their product :D

Ok as stated above. The Hydronaut has better thermal conductivity than the MasterGel Maker and is cheaper. If that is your reason, then it makes no sense to go for the mastergel maker at all. Also besides the carbonaut pad and the conductonaut paste, NONE of the other Thermal-Grizzly products are Electrically conductive.
