Good morning all.

I always wanted to create a custom Windowed Side panel for my old still solid Cooler Master Storm Trooper.

IT currently has sealed mesh but i am thinking of getting some clear acrylic plastic.

My questions are:

1. Any recommendations where to source it from Cape Town ?
2. Any examples of people who have done mods like this ?
3. Any bonus tips for cutting (I have a dremmel but a apparently a cutting knife is recommended).

Thanks in advance.

1) usually Maizeys a good option

2)...

3)you are going to battle with a cutting knife to cut through the metal side panel :p

You may need to drill the case and fit Riv-nuts. A new custom laser cut panel can be installed with perspex or acrylic backing. I have done some mods to a PS4 but unfortunately cant work out how to attach the Pics.

I can do the graphics to be cut in CAD at no cost. Really enjoy small craft projects to pass time.

Dremel is a great little tool, have used it in many mods, it is not the best to cutting acrylic panels as it tends to start melting it while cutting, so if you have to cut I would have water with that you can throw on while you cutting.

I have access to a laser Cutter that can go through Perspex. I was wondering how I would go about cutting the metal panel though. Thinking maybe grinder or dremel or a mixture of both

grinder is just much quicker, but dremel should get you that bit closer to your mark

can always use dremel to do the sanding after using the grinder

dremel also help more for rounded corners/edges
