Morning Everyone,

So I now have my Kraken and H105 installed ( few bent fins later thanks to not holding the Kraken while moving over the rad), doing some testing, max temps once the machine has been on for a good while and some benching/in-game it seems to sit around 60c +- 1-3c either side.
will post fan curves later.

My first question is what software monitors VRM temps (if there are sensors for them on this card)

I have:

GPU-Z
MSI Afterburner/RTSS
HWInfo


Pump/rad fans and Kraken fan plugged into a fan controller.
Exhaust 120mm back, 140mm top, each in its own header.
Rad fans set to intake.

It seems to now sit around 1304mHz on the core vs I believe what was 1194mHz on the air cooler.
I obviously want to see what the card can do, and will do my research into what is possible with this card. I definitely want to take the multiple Bios' into account with this card so that I can have the flexibility and so I want to set those up correctly first as well.

My second question is there software that can monitor power draw and identify what each component is drawing? (Curious to see what the power draw is no with the rad) or is this just something you have to work out?

Specs:
EVGA 980ti SC+
Case: NZXT S340 Elite
SuperFlower Leadex 750w 80+ Gold
Ryzen 5 1500X
Crucial Ballistix 3200mHz @ 2666mHz because board won't post any higher
MSI B350 Mortar

Benchmarks:
Unigine Valley / Heaven / tropics
Superposition

Note: The only differences I see between BIOS Versions are the MD5 Hash and SHA1 Hash, what is the purpose of these Hash's and what do different versions offer, if any?

HWInfo gives you all the temp monitors on your mobo and power draw in watts of each component - in addition to a metric crap-ton of information like fan speeds in RPM, RAM/CPU/GPU/VRAM usage and speeds, hard drive and network I/O speeds... Anything you can imagine pretty much. You can also disable any sensor you don't want to monitor. It's a great program that I use daily.

Worth noting it's better to run only one monitoring program at a time, else they may clash and give funny readings.

Bummer about your RAM not posting at rated speed :( I am assuming you tried enabling XMP for it in the BIOS? That worked for me with the same mobo and a 1600X with Vengeance 3200MHz CL14 RAM.

Not sure my latency or timings o my RAM, but no XMP, or gameboost or anything, just hardset to 2666 because the board just doesn't enjoy anything above that. XMP black screens maybe 20 seconds after because it immediately tries to go higher, so I barely even get to login most of the time, sometimes I do though. Who knows, maybe we can play around with RAM timings and get that going a bit more, would be nice.

One thing I can say is do not enable the Gameboost feature, that applies an overclock to the CPU but also pushes the voltage up to something obscene like 1.45V.

Did you try both XMP profiles? If the XMP didn't work then you would probably have to try tweak the timings to get it running at the rated speed, and that unfortunately exceeds my knowledge of RAM overclocking. I am sure someone here will have advice about it though.

Where do you see real-time power draw in HWinfo? I found the TDP for the CPU but the GPU doesn't seem to have any wattage information, only voltage. Also removed all other monitoring software, except MSI afterburner and RTSS since I use that.

EDIT: I found the sensors tab, what are VRM sensors usually named?

I don't have it open in front of me since I am at work, but GPU power in Watt should be in the same place as the other GPU info, just a bit further down.

Motherboard temp sensors are also all bundled together, they are called things like System and Motherboard and AUX, etc. Not sure which ones refer to VRM specifically but I just check to make sure none of those ones get super hot.
 
Ok cool, yeah I seem to have found it, just need to see what VRN's are labelled as, as my main concern is cooling the VRM's now that there's no thermal pads/backplate making contact with them. Thanks for the help, HWinfo is some nice software
 
Evening All,

So I am venturing into OC'ing for the first time now, I did some benches to get a base of where the card is currently at.

Core clocks are between 1200 and 1304mHz, mostly sitting at 1304mHz stable in 1080 fullscreen.
Mem Clock is 3506mHz stable in Valley, Heaven, SuperPosition & games.

Max temps are 65C on Extreme settings.
I will post scores just now.

People with experience wanting to see where this thing can go can help me if they so choose, as this will be a bit of a learning curve for me :p

Heinreich pointed to me some very crucial information of backing up the ROM using GPU-Z and getting some bioses from TechPowerUp,

Does anyone know of any top-notch Bios' I should go for and any to stay away from?

Managed to hit 1378mHz with 100-110 on the core clock with power limit on 110(max on this BIOS) before Furmark Donught Vulkan began crashing stress-tested Fullscreen and 1280x720.

Satisfied at my first dip into OC'ing - any tips on how to keep furmark from crashing would be appreciated :)

I seem to be hitting a cap at 1400mHz

I adjusted the fan curve as the first attempt saw touching 70c

Second attempt I'm hovering around 50-55c and Unigine and Furmark (Vulkan) is crashing right as you border 1400mHz - is this the limit of the card or should I try and change bios'

I may be that the TP wasn't applied correctly and is uneven, but temps are ok and it seems stable until it gets to 1400mHz
