Need For Speed: Heat Being Revealed Today

Up in the air at the moment.

Was watching a german vid on the game, super detailed. Apparently at night you get a limit of 3 garage visits a night.
Customisation is identical to Payback but will apparently feature far more items. Oh and exhaust tuning.

So yeah not sure. I think it might not be up to a day 1 purchase anyways.
I’m going to play on the EA Access Premier sub for the first month just to be sure it’s as great as it looks. I’ve fallen for Call of Duty gameplay trailers a few too many times to trust any gameplay trailers. They only show you what you want to see.

I foresee 99% of players doing popcorn exhaust sound tuning.

This wasnt trailer. It was a twitch streamer getting two complete runs of the demo.

But yeah the gamescom demo is limited. You get to customise 4 cars. And then it jumps through those 3 events. The escape part is time limited to 5 min before the demo ends and has to be booted again.

Night will also works like Rivals freeroam. You gotta get to the safehouse to bank anything (which presumable auto-starts day). Heavy losses for getting busted. But night is where everything is unlocked.

Oh an avatar has hats as part of hairstyles. Lots of texture placeholders there still.

You need to progress night to get any performance upgrades. And Payback's performance suggestion numbers are still there for events.

The few videos i watched state that you get to choose day or night from the garage so getting busted doesn't lead to auto day starts but you do lose any rep and parts unlocked in those night events if you get busted. You also make all your cash from the day time legal events where as all your rep is gained at nights on the illegal street racing scene.

In that case night is identical to Rivals Racer free roam.

Pretty much yeah they just took aspects of each game and mashed them together. You can also get into cop chases during the day however they aren`t nearly as aggressive as they will be at nights so you can at least have some fun in the day time free roam.

K so I've watched I think most of the vids currently out there. One escape....one single escape, which was by the EA presentation player which he did by basically jumping into a race track and then speeding straight out again, ....everyone else just got busted, then again he couldn't make it home either getting involved in another chase just before reaching home and getting busted from that (he was outa Demo time anyways though)....tell me again how cop chases are fun?
And one guy who never got into the final chase and just walked home.

This is why the pursuit breaker system needs to come back. Things I can hit that will for certain get one or two cops off my arse.

K. Jack escaping makes it two escapes.

Pity he didn't show the whole vid of that.

Launch and this thread stays quiet....ok...
Haven't read a full review yet, first impressions don't count (for me), they contain just light comments on graphics, etc.

I think we have some subscribers around here though and none of them has reported in?

I think they were hoping some people on access premier would make the mistake and still order it beforehand, only to find out it is coming to the vault.

Looks like it, just started playing an hour ago or so

Cool curious to know your thoughts.
It's obviously not a Day 1 purchase given Day 1 has come and gone but still curious.

Odd how hype for this game completely vanished. Haven't even seen the usual IGN or Gamespot review yet.

So far gameplay is cool, I am not a big fan of the my little pony colours .

I also think as game progresses and one upgrade and tune the cars the gameplay will be more enjoyable

So, Origin Premier Access has it currently and its live for early access play...you get the Deluxe edition which gives you a few cars (2 available immediately - Mitsubishi Lancer Evo) and a few that unlock at later rep levels.

Just a quick word, if you dont like the default keys...better configure it before starting the story mode ... it defaults to WASD for driving the vehicle, i personally prefer using the Arrow Keys, as i have gotten used to that over the years of NFS.

Havent played much, but it seems to run quite well for me currently. Back to the old cops vs street racers...and by the looks of the updates/accessories for the vehicles, this is going to get a bit more tech advanced when facing the cops - Kill Switches and kill switch jammers, etc.

how are you not using a controller for a racing game

Review came out 2 weeks ago. On IGN. Was actually shockingly premature.

It largely depends on what you got used to using. I grew up playing the old NFS games with a keyboard and so even now I'm still very comfortable with it. Only use the controller for games like Forza and Asetto Corsa which require more delicate controls.

boys, i feel let down to be honest..... just a remastered payback.... or can even call it an expansion of it.
