Bluetooth headset issue (please help fix)

The ugreen Bluetooth dongle.
Bluetooth 4.0
Trying to connect the pxc 550
Bluetooth 4.2

Looking in devices and printers, the Bluetooth dongle shows as a headset and when attempting to connect the witness headphones they appear as an unrecognised device.

I've reinstalled the drivers maybe 6 or 7 times I've allowed for Windows to install those drivers and tried the drivers from ugreens website.

The headset connects fine on my laptop and cell phone (both have integrated Bluetooth)

What do you think I should try do? Thank you in advance

It was a mission to get my ulevel pros ti connect to PC bluetooth too ...

You need to play in sound settings and get them to send the sound to headset over bluetooth. I can't remember what I did exactly ... a wired connection was much easier for me as I don't need the headset far away

Mine arnt far either, but just you know pick up and use. It's just one of the reasons to go wireless.

the problem with wireless is that you are sacrificing quality for the convenience - and the loss in quality can range from "drastic" to "not so bad" depending on the codec used

just a reminder on the transfer rates of each codec

SBC = 320kbps
AAC = 250kbps but because of efficiency it is considered better than SBC
AptX = 352kbps
AptX-HD - 576kbps
LDAC = 990kbps
HWA aka LHDC = 900kbps

if you use your bluetooth headphones via SBC it sounds absolutely terrible - and if you can then rather use wired which transmits data at the native resolutions - it makes a fair amount of difference - i have tested using LDAC vs LHDC vs wired vs all the other entry level codecs .... AptX-HD starts the improvement and LDAC and LHDC are just slightly behind wired but SBC (sub band coding) which is normal bluetooth is piss poor - and i would not use it even for the convenience

if you have to use wireless transmission via Blutooth then LDAC or LHDC should be your minimum standard IMHO even for lowly mp3 but i listen more to FLAC files over LDAC mostly but LHDC if i use the Fiio app on my phone which forces bluetooth to use HWA when you activate HWA .... remember though you need transmitters and receivers that capable of these codecs though .... and if you dont have that then stick to wired if you want to enjoy the music because SBC and AAC suck (at best) and they both sound like "shit gone bad for a month" if i have to tell the truth

This is interesting and tbh i haven't really looked that far into bluetooth myself. How would i know which codecs my devices are capable of using?

it should tell you in the spec sheet of your devices - though i went out of my way to get the devices with the codecs that i wish to use - but can still safely say that the best codecs are okay but not all the way as good as regular wired headphones or using a USB connection to external DAC

i purchased a Fiio Btr3 bluetooth reciever which allows you to use any headphones including all your wired modeals via a small dongle sized reciever and the source can transmit the bluetooth to it - but my phone transmits all the bluetooth besides for HWA natively but i can enable the optional codecs in developer options and then the Fiio app can force HWA via bluetooth

the the Fiio music app showing HWA being forced when you enable HWA in the App this then uses LHDC as the codec even though the phone does not do it natively

this thing also has a type C input so you can test it as a wired external DAC as well or leave the connection between phone/any source and the reciever as wireless and use any of your regilar headphones or earphones
