So it seems FNB have now changed when you get your allocated slow lounge visits. The allocation ran from Jan to Dec, However they've since changed it from July to June (8 visits for me at level 4).

Now heading into June 2019 I had 4 slow visits remaining... Since this change, it seems I have forfeited the remaining 4 as the counter has reset to 8 again..

Anyone else lose their comp visits due to this?

I would rather see it as gaining 4 visits...rather than losing 4.

I should probably figure out how these slow lounges work when traveling abroad ... care 2 share ?

See this is where I get a little upset because I've been "saving" my remaining 4 visits despite flying at least twice a month (I don't always use the lounge because at R250 a pop I don't exactly want to waste them). Basically this means I've now lost R1 000.

In a nutshell, certain banks give you access to a "premium" lounge at airports for you to kill time before a flight. other lounges also allow you to buy a voucher for that use too.

Can't speak for other banks but With FNB and depending on your reward level, you get granted say 8 free visits on level 4. Otherwise it's a R250 per person for a local flight, R400 for international.

You basically get a buffet, open bar, comfortable seating, power sockets just about everywhere and can even book a masseur if that tickles your fancy.

I also lost a few but not really worried as I don't ever use up my allowance for slow lounge visits. Hopefully they can all be utilized every year sometime in my life :D

Well it depends on when it resets.

If it's going to reset in January 2020, then you've gotten more now than you had before.

After all you only had the use of the 4 until the end of the year right? Now you have 8 either until the end of the year or until next year June.

Seems like a win win to me.

Yeah I saw that - pay for it most likely , but never used ... Where can I find a list of "affiliated" lounges across the world ? Not everyone seems to know what a SLOW lounge is :/

You Platinum or Black card? I'm Platinum so it's useless because FNB don't allow lounge access for international flights on Platinum - only domestic on Platinum. So I just use the SAA lounge. If you're a Black card holder then international lounge is fine.

RMB downgrade was even worse... Unlimited visits only on level 5 now.
