RIP Team Blue

disappointing results for AMD, again.
Lets hope they can get a refresh out to match intel before intel can 10nm
How so? AMD seems to keep up in almost all games and knocks Intel out of the park in the work/productivity side of things

If by keeping up you mean 10-20% behind then yep they are keeping up.
Look, they improved, and that's kinda good, the 2XXX isn't even really worth considering anymore as a gamer, but they are stil

If Intel has any sort of answer they will immediately be as behind again.

Does anyone here actually watch Linus. So annoying !

I don't watch him as in check up what he's uploaded regularly but every once in a while his suggestion comes up and the title might look interesting, then I'll watch.

After watching Gamers Nexu's review, I may well grab a Ryzen 5/7 , 6 or > core build in the next 6 months. Lets see what comes of it all. Seems like damn good bang for buck. My only 'concern' is that historically people have "had to" upgrade their AMD systems sooner than someone with a competing Intel build @ the same Ghz, but it seems like things are changing...

Oh damn.. didn't realize local pricing was going to be like that [emoji23] I was just basing it off the US pricing

Well it was kind of a rhetorical question as with 8,7 Million subscribers , I guess plenty of people are watching. Lots of people watch Taylor Swift too .
Will stick to GN or Hardware Unboxed or anyone else for that matter.

I doubt it . You are a K Series Intel junkie

I prefer hardware unboxed in benchmarks.

My two cents on this topic = AMD GG , really guys well done , but I sense computers are now in a point where the depth of your wallet will determine the performance you get.

Conclusion : I still feel if it is a R9280x or a RTX 2080TI or a 9900K or even that beasty 3200G if it puts a smile on your face and you can game your games. it fulled its purpose in my view

Final word , DAMM SON That 3700x knocks a 9700K hard in gaming.

And if the 3900x can match my 9900K in single core performance , yikes that 3950x will totally shred my 9900K . and from a productive workload perspective can you just imagine third gen threadripper those things will fight Xeon's

P.s AMD if you are reading this please for the love of everything that is holy on this earth make threadripper support HyperV

The sensible and rather powerful buy would be the MSI B450 Tomahawk + Ryzen 5 3600 for most people .
Seems many reviewers like that particular B450

What you smoking over there :)
9700K is clearly a better gaming CPU than a Ryzen 3700x

Did you guys watch Linus' video?

Interesting thing - when they added OBS to the mix, the difference in gaming performance changes quite a bit. Something to keep in mind for the streamers.

Plus cooler for the Intel rig (R~950) but yes, at that price, the 9900K is still insanely good.

Clearly, local sellers are matching the prices because they can, not because AMD is supposed to be cheaper.

Also, you don’t need an X570 board. A good B450 board will be fine for the 3700X.

The motherboard side, specifically the x570 boards are the new chip sets biggest issue to me when competing for price/perf, considering the 2 as a whole.

For instance the more 'viable' 9700k and Aorus Ultra z390 is cheaper by almost 1.5-2k in comparison to the 3700x and the x570 Aorus ultra board.

Now to me and I think allot of others pcie 4 isn't worth the 2k extra outlay as a gamer for less performance in the end when that can be used for an nvme or extra ram which will make a much larger impact overall.

If the boards were in the same price range then it would be a completely different ball game 🤷‍♂️

Wow, that I agree with!
I went for the 9700k when I was looking, because even then the 2700x with a suitable mobo came to the same price.
Current specs listed below in my sig...

The ultra board is a bit excessive no, what about an Asus Strix Z390E, brings the price difference down to 2.5k, which is extra RAM.

Yeah, I watch GN when it's bedtime. Better than a sleeping pill. :p Also this guy that works for them is quite good, love when he is in videos.

Exactly! The Ultra I just used as its the most recommended board for oc'ing, features etc. But the Asus boards have an even bigger margin as you say with differences in price.

He works for Linus not Steve

I know and I meant he works for Linus. My bad on that though, I have that thing where my mind and hands are not always in Sync, whatever you call it lol.

Intels upgrade path is always dam expensive, AMD on their 3rd gen yet can still use a 1st gen board its just swopping out of cpus thats basically it
