Well shit, guess now is as good a time as any to get back into Ark.
Haven't touched this game since the first paid dlc was launched.

What do you mean, there's only one ARK not linked. Or do you mean if you can transfer from another server to here? -- both answers is no

because this isnt the first time I hosted ARK, and see single player users with admin commands import high level dino and chars they cheated.

I want to get into this to at least experience the game, bought and played 30 minutes of it. Never knew what I was doing and never had will to learn, if someone is willing to show me the ropes I would be keen to give it a try

Not yet, I haven't played with the auto mod loading thing, but if it works, great! makes life much easier than manually keeping track of mods which Im not amped for. But hey this server is for the Carb community, so suggest away what you guys feel is necessary! I just laid the base for now

Soo, Long story short. I was on a PvPvE server. It was wiped not soo long ago and a Alpha tribe has emerged and started going on a "become our bitches or we will wipe you and your stuff off the map repeatedly" campaign. I attempted the being their bitch route but I no longer enjoy not being able to do my own things. So far they have chased away 70% of the server which was a good 50 strong. Now it's their tribe and randoms that attempt to join and then shortly leave because they get wiped at lvl 1 repeatedly. Soo how is the attitude to the PVP side to your server? I don't mind PVP but being wiped constantly without any chance to recover is kinda boring.

PvP is a balance act hey, on the one hand people can ensure you stay the underdog and that could be acceptable... The nice thing about a community run server is you don't have admins running it and favoring. If you do encounter issues you can come talk about it here. I agree with you on the constant wiping, of course nobody is going to do that twice in a row and not leave the server.

If I can get a decent amount of people that will join the server I'll start one up again for Carbies. When I started the server last time and made this group the player numbers were dead to zero...

If you want to play with friends or acquaintances then PVE with friendly fire set to OFF is highly recommended to save you from a lot of swearing and having to keep kicking players from your tribe

Me and a few friends have been playing on our modded pve server for almost 8 months now without any major incidents and we even picked up a few new random players along the way
