Wanted: Someone competent to replace my Samsung S6 screen at a decent price.
Damage: Phone fell on it's side and the screen turned purple on the side where it fell and then the side which turned purple became black and then the other side also also turned purple and at that point the whole screen was black and not responsive. Phone still works fine, can still hear my messages and calls coming through.
Parts to be used: Only original Samsung parts please with the original 4k resolution.

Check with Samsung repair centers. Sometimes they have specials that are cheaper then the China mall / pakkie cellphone shops.

I stand to be corrected, but samsung had a promo recently on repairs if i heard correctly. As Red has said, give them a try. That may way work out better.

There was a rumour that all repairs going to be half-price but i didnt see proof anywhere.

Also, third party stores will not replace the screen with an original. From what I have come across, you cannot get original parts "off the shelf".

I live in Pretoria and the only official Samsung seems to be in Menlyn (they aren't even listen on the Samsung website, even though Vodacom is). I would use them I guess but their google rating is 1.5 stars and everyone complains about their service, surely there has to be a better option.

Then there has to be a lot of these shops? Why can I only find the one in Menlyn?

Thos is not a quick fix. Would rather get quote from Samsung agent.

I will probably end up doing this, just the bad reviews holding me back for now.

That is a very valid point.

Go to the iStore and buy an iphone - screen replaced xD

Hahahaha better quality too I guess... My S6 had massive screen burn in due to the bad quality screens.

Bump - If no one comes with any better suggestions I will just fix it at Samsung Store in Menlyn, the bad reviews are just what is keeping me back at the moment, and they also take weeks to fix it apparently.

I remember one in brooklyn mall, but i think thats closed down. Try jhb maybe, sandton and surrounding areas? Maybe a small drive but if they offer better service than what you already read, then it may be worth it.

Samsung do all their repairs via Wefix now....thats what an agent told me.
They charge 2000

Can confirm that Wefix does repairs for S6. The girlfriend broke hers a month ago. Ended up paying R2700 for a screen and battery replacement

I ended up going to the grove mall, the samsung doesn't appear on google maps or any other searches I found it hidden on their website and the confirmed it with a google search of the grove looking on their catalog of newly opened stores. The service centre is massive, but expensive in my opinion... They will charge me R2400-2500 to fix my screen and it will take 3-7 working days. I also had to pay R355 which then gets deducted from the total of the repair cost if I decide to repair my phone with them. If I don;t repair with them I lose the R355 xD

Damn, I am waiting on my quote from samsung but they estimated it would be R2400-2500, what a nice profit they make on top of that...
I don't have a back up and I was so desperate to get my phone working again I just drove to the grove mall and booked it in.

I think Samsung quoted me the same for a new battery and screen... Although they said they won't replace the battery unless it's faulty, even if I ask for them to replace it. lol...
