so let me just say that i have previously bought a refurb item with no issues and so have my buddies. but this time it was different
i enquired about the refurbed vega 64 for sale, availability was confirmed and i paid the next day 1st feb via payfast,only on the 8th of feb i received a waybill, delay was due to waiting for payfast to clear funds and couriers not picking up when it was requested.
waybill given had the wrong destination and receiver details on, due to multiple items loaded at once, seller said that couriers swopped parcels and will notify the courier to rectify asap, later on i was told that i have the correct waybill, the information will just be updated and be redirected to go to me, it never happened. then later on i got another waybill that is my real waybill, the first waybill way delivered and the second was still in transit,
11 feb i received the gpu....
gpu box arrived in courier bag, no bubblewrap or any kind of protection/padding
vega 64 gpu arrived in a rtx 2070 box
top padding inside box that rests onto of gpu was missing
gpu was extremely dirty and full of dust....refurbished?
after talking with seller he said i must check it out and let him know what i want to do refund ect..
loaded gpu into pc, installed drivers, loaded up a game, and it crashed within minutes, fans full speed with no signal display, the next day i do a benchmark and roughly in the 1st minute the gpu crashes again, same symptoms. i told seller i want to return but also asked if there is no other gpus that is actually refurbed in a similar price range, still waiting for him to come back to that question
seller tells me on the weekend to have gpu ready for collection, Monday 12am i ask if couriers are booked, seller replies no...yet i was told to have it ready. he books and pickup later that day. seller also said that refund will happen the same day. i had to enquire the next day for the refund to get it.
on Monday it was the start of the 3rd week since i made payment, i was super annoyed during this whole deal, and after all this im still without a gpu, honestly i wanted to do a bad review, but i did get my refund. and this was clearly not a good deal, hence my neutral feedback
