CSGO frame drops with new GPU

    Hey guys.

    A friend bought a GPU, A 1060.

All games he runs are fine. Except CSGO. Which he has come to me about.
When enemies appear his frames drop to 20 or so. It happens on his 144hz or 60hz screen regardless.
It also seems that his GPU utilization is haphazard in CSGO, Jumps all over the place where other games run at around 40-50% utilization.
    Last option will be formatting.
Anyone here maybe have an idea?

    His specs.

Is it not that xbox one thing you have to disable?

Maybe that fx8350 is bottlenecking the 1060. Hell mine bottlenecked slightly when i had a 290x and when i upgraded to a 980 it was even worst(which is as fast as the 1060 today)

Xbox DVR has been turned off. Made no difference with it on or off.

    He had a GTX750

I don't think it's the CPU but it may be possible. But why would it run okay on a slower card and then drop to those frames with a higher end one?

Cos he's pushed his graphics up with the new card and now the cpu is kak'ing. Turn gfx settings to same it was with old card and see what happens.

Also, CS:GO is quite CPU intensive. Possibly he's turned the settings up due to his upgrade, and the CPU is struggling.

This, have to remember a fx8350 is comparable to a 2 generation older Core i3 in terms of IPC, and having my old 980 in my rig with that cpu made it extremely hard for the cpu to catch up which resulted in frame drops similar to what you`re describing. The fact that his gpu utilization is only at 40% to 60% in other titles as well also indicates that its bottlenecked.
