ASUS MAXIMUS IX APEX - Good

No time to go into details and I literally had no prep and a few minutes to do with before moisture and what not set in (no proper insulation etc. due to my tardiness)

Anyway, this board just makes life so damn easy. Not a great board for 24/7 use (you'll want the other stuff from the ASUS range for that) as it's only average there (rather take the HERO)
For overclocking though, it's just bonkers. It's similar to having the ASROck Z170M OC-Formula, only thing is this one you can buy anywhere and readily available. Also, it looks better and as a 24/7 system works better as well in addition to being a full ATX board.

Top 20 in a few minutes isn't bad I say.
    Will add more pics etc.
Everyday I know less and less about more and more.

Yes LN2. CPU can go a bit more, maybe say 200 to 250MHz more. Will try again much later or when I have time again.
I just boot into windows like this at 6.6GHz. The only run as well

Dude, I basically lost my mind when I saw this board the other day. You told me Asus had something good coming but I didn't imagine it being this good!

For me the best thing is that button that "fixes" the CBB

The ASROck Z170M OC-Formula is going in my gaming system now since this is out

Yeah man, it's so damn simple to OC with, that button does come in handy as well, avoid having to heat up/cool down etc and all things associated with the stress that this process puts on the motherboard.
You're right to be excited, it's too damn easy to OC. Just mind bending actually how quick one can be up and running with tight timings and high clock frequency. For live competitions, I'd definitely have this as my motherboard of choice.
I'll do something stupid and call this one for the LGA 1151 socket, as the definitive OC board of the lot. Price should be fairly low as well, around R3.5K

I'm not sure how the Apex sells the Formula which is aimed at an entirely different market?

People need to spend less time learning and more time thinking
Remove the word "co-incidence" from your vocabulary. Now, re-evaluate the evidence.

Won't the overclocking capability be relatively the same on all the Maximus boards? Or am I misled?
