AMD Radeon RX 480 - Mainstream is back

Looking good so far. 1440p gaming @ $199 sounds good

This is actually pretty good news, and a good show, for AMD I think.
If they really can deliver >970 performance for $199 then I reckon they've got a hit on their hands given that the 970 is still going for ~$300.
For me it unfortunately won't be enough I reckon. I'm pretty sure the 1070 is going to be worth the premium.

    From the article.
According to multiple editors (who took part in Polaris Tech Day) Radeon RX 480 would offer performance between GeForce GTX 970 and GTX 980.
Guess 1440p will be doable but you may need to turn down some settings ?

I think when you talk dollar margins, the market gets close. I think the price difference between the 480 and the 1070 locally will be a lot more than expected.

From the pictures, it seems there is no dual link dvi, unless some of the partners adds it, I will be skipping. My screen only has DVI, and I'm not replacing that bad boy.

I'm considering getting 2 of these to crossfire. $400 for >GTX 1080 performance sounds quite attractive, and only 300w so I won't have to upgrade my PSU.

I'm extremely excited about what AMD is bringing to the GPU market, I've been team green my whole life, but I've always wanted a good reason to change, not saying that I will change, but it would be nice to have a difficult decision to make

I love the look of the AMD reference coolers, so sleek
