have to agree with toxxy, we recently switched over to gas and there is a huge difference in the monthly bill for electricity. cooking is also much better

I must say I have not much experience with a gas oven, but the one or two times I used one it worked just fine, no issues at all.

Uneven heat I suppose. It's fine for baking a lasagna and things like that. Having pieces slightly crispier than others isn't a train smash but when you baking more "delicate" things, that is when you get fckups. Either overcooking or under cooking. I have not once come across a gas oven that cooks evenly.

Re: How much electricity does your household use every month?

    House of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids)
Monthly Usage: +- 1200KWH (+-R1800 ish per month) - post paid, we have an elctronic meter that they read from.

We also have a gas stove which helps.

    BUT, i do run 4 pc's

    PLEX (450 WATT PSU)
OMV (1000 WATT PSU) (This seems to draw a constant 300 - 400 watts depending, has 5 SATA drives in.
Ubuntu Server (Playing around with stuff, not on full time) 450 WATT PSU
My Desktop in office (1000 WATT) Sleeps after 2 hours

Every bulb in the house is LED, even the pool light

Pool runs 3 hours in a 24 hour cycle (Pool is small)

Gardener once a week (1000 WATT Lawnmower)

My Motorcycle is on a charger full time too.

This includes aircon in main bedroom on hot nights as well as fans in kids rooms.

    So not bad IMO.
