Re: Talk to me about fans (all of them)

1000 bucks is too rich for me.Maybe after I get some more RAM I can invest in something like this.Having all my system fans and lighting controlled from one place sounds awesome.

Re: Talk to me about fans (all of them)

I bought the EK Varder F3 (1850 RPM) and it's good, moves quite a bit of air through the 120 AIO than the stock Cooler Master fan at max RPM, but there's one annoyance. At between 1100 & 1400-ish RPM there's a strange ticking noise. Its lessened at around 1300 RPM and lower than 1000 RPM its not very loud audible (but it's still there). At max RPM its sound spectrum isn't a high pitched whine and is surprisingly not annoying compared to other fans. The ticking noise is driving my OCD nuts though so been trying to find an RPM sweet spot.

Bought this Phanteks to use as rear exhaust: https://www.wootware.co.za/phanteks-...-case-fan.html
Very quiet and moves a good amount of air at low RPM.

I've given up on silence this past weekend.30 degree ambients meant I had to blast all my fans at 70% to 100% to keep the PC cool while playing a game

Rad space over fans every day...but There is no "BEST" fan config for every single case or rig!...Static pressure is the king of cooling whether water or air...

I sent my H80i away to Rebel Tech today, so will see if they credit my account or send a new unit or repair the one I sent them.

But either way, I may sell it if I receive a replacement unit and buy a high end air cooler again, or use the credit to do the same if that is the remedial action they choose. If the agents repair it...well I'll be damned

Re: Talk to me about fans (all of them)

Question: I've just recently transplanted my goodies plus upgrades to a new case, Thermaltake Suppressor F51...

Got a H115i for cooling and replaced the stock fans with Corsair ML140 pro ones... the stock rear is a 140 as well... the ML's has a 1600RPM control range and the stock rear Thermaltake fan doesn't seem to go above 900RPM

Should I replace the rear with another ML140?

Its generally a good idea to have your intake fans at higher rpm than the exhaust, well for positive air pressure at least. So no real harm if that is spinning slower than the others

Hahaha! Have another ML in my cart and it just dawned on me now that I'm a doos! I can replace the stock rear fan with one of the 2 SP fans that came with the H115i... removed from cart...me dumbass!

At stock 4GHz there was a 5deg difference between it and CM Hyper Evo...

It's at 4.6Ghz where the H115i starts to shine... Intel stress test for 1 hour and temps peaked at 57deg with the H115i on balanced mode and with ML fans so I'm very happy with it!
