Years ago when I worked in a computer retail store I had sold a client and his son 2 gaming computers for R48000 just so they could play Crysis by far 1 of the greatest game ever created !

Circa 2007 was a good year for Crytek

I remember being thoroughly happy with the 1680x1050 performance on my GTX260. And then later I played with a bunch of mods on a 780 and with the 1680x1050 monitor I still had at the time it only chugged when there were tons of invisi aliens onscreen.
Was a lot of fun back in 2008.

But damn....that this game can still give GPUs so much grief.

I must be one of the only ones who think that Crysis really wasn't such a good game. Yes it was good, but not "phenomenal". It was obvious from the get-go that the entire game was created for one reason - to show off the engine running it. And that's it. Warhead was WAY better.

I remember playing Crysis on a GeCube HD 4830 with a big-ass Philips monitor I got from work (instead of the flash drive I asked for) and I kept thinking to myself "What's the fuss?". Never really experienced the "but will it run Crysis hype". But I do get a giggle or two about the memes.

I agree that Warhead was the better of them. Just too short.

I am actually busy with a Crysis 3 playthrough again and even with my 3770k and 1070 it has a few hiccups here and there with everything maxed out. Graphs show that the CPU is having a great time but my GPU is struggling to keep up with 98 - 100% load

Loved this game. Played it every way possible and the rage in multiplayer was real when someone got a gauss rifle. Remember this one map where a building was surrounded by canyons and at least half of the players sniped with a gauss rifle or camped that fucking tunnel with explosives.

I disliked Warhead. Most of what the game did seemed like they did it just cuz Crysis did (the COD formula basically). Except shorter and now less original. And that train sequence....I hate train sequences. Although Warhead does have the better ending, I'll give you that.
