Hi, i'm currently doing an Comptia A+ course as i'm actually a personal trainer with a professional diploma in diet and nutrition & have experience as a Fitness Instructor but haven't been able to find work nor clients since resigning in March due to safety, Any advice what other courses to look at? I want to primarily focus on Hardware installation

Hi there, my personal take is something networking related will be beneficial if you’re into infrastructure. That way you can even do part time house installs etc. Maybe start small and do an N+ and see it’s for you and then look at a CCNA or something like that. With the big push to cloud, something like azure/aws/gcp cloud engineer cert would be good also. I work in IT operations and those are the guys we always need.

Also there is a lot of free learning out there so take a look at the free stuff and use what you can before paying to go on a course that will teach you the same thing.. rather pay for the exams to be officially certified.

Please don't waste more your time on other CompTIA certifications. They're incredibly basic and carry very little water.

If you want your foot in the door in IT and you don't know where to start, go into the Datacenter/Facilities Management side of things. It's a rare skill set, pays well, and doesn't require that you know the details of how various systems work. Look up the Certified Data Centre Management Professional courses and see if that stuff interests you.

Yourself being a personal trainer means that you're carrying some extra muscle - That will come in handy when you have to rack a 115kg blade chassis.

Generally i haven't gotten into many of it due to being rather bad at maths and i know a lot of IT is maths focused

Infrastructure, management, system administration, networking and even most programming doesn't require steong math skills. I've been in the Linux Admin side for the last 5 years and don't think I've ever needed a calculator to do my job.

Don't let the idea of needing good math skills stop you bro.
