Difficult to answer without knowing the specific vehicle and current brake setup; and I would probably suggest getting professional advice. I was just commenting on the general interchangeability of parts across VAG cars sharing the same platform (PQ35, MQB, etc).

Depending on the vehicle, the 5mm may not be an issue. For example, an upgrade people often do is the TTRS brake setup on an S3/6R. The standard S3/6R front disc is 345mm, but the TTRS is 340mm... however it is a straight fit. You get the added benefit of wear to the disc not creating a ridge...
