They require prospective candidates that are natural problem solvers - they conduct 3 tests to filter the prospects out. After which candidates are then slotted into a paid internship that lasts 3 months. If you are then good enough, you will be given a full time position at the company.

If you are interested, MIP Holdings | Leading Software Engineering Company in South Africa | Internship you can start the first test here. Please contact me if you do make it or have any questions. PS their offices are in Johannesburg or Cape Town but they do work remotely* however you will have to make your way to JHB for the internship for the first 2 Weeks (they will fund your accommodation and flights) However for the 3rd Test, It can only be done in Johannesburg (for now) and thus you will need to fund your own transport and accommodation for that.

*Update - for the 3 months of the internship you will have to come into either the Joburg or Cape Town office unless you have made an arrangement with management.

What can we expect on the 3 months training, programming language used, topics/modules covered and is there any online resources available to prepare ourselves for that?
 
Hey man so they basically teach you the basics of coding - whats a string, conditional statements etc in the first week then advance into how the company codes - building those backends etc all done in a language called Progress or 4GL.
 
Whats the ballpark figure of a salary once done with internship?

Hi man, its a 3 month internship, if you prove yourself in the internship - you are then given a position and slotted into the company where you contracted (unless you buy out (pay for your training)) for 3 years :)
 
Just so happened to come across this test through an application I made with a recruiter on Career Junction. Just wondering if I'm wasting my time applying so late or if they will take new candidates at any time?

Hey Nemo - they take 3 intern classes of about +- 25 people per year, every year. :)

Good day, I would like some help preparing for the VZAP test,I'm writing on Wednesday the 10th pf May.
 
Hie I completed my diploma in systems development at Boston. Currently am waiting for my mip 3hr assessment. Does it matter if I didn’t do computer science as a major

Hi Ashley, no it doesnt matter at all, all applicants range from people with experience, people without degrees, people with other unrelated degrees and even post matriculants :)

@MewTwo what are the odds of this still being available? I just head that my contract with Game Tester will be ending, and need to get into something else as soon as possible..

@tinus_taljaard yes this is still on, available... But the next class starts in September, so you will need to finish all 3 tests asap
 
I dont know if I failed at some point of the tests but I've completed about 4 months ago, the cypher test and the game rounds, and got the message "We'll be in contact with you soon", but no response thus far.
